They all figure it out eventually: if one parent says “no,” just go ask the other one. But it takes them a little longer to be subtle and stealthy about it. I love that Edgar was trying to explain to me WHY it is a good method.
As his parent, it is my duty to pretend to be surprised and disappointed. But, to be honest, the kid is totally right. If Mom says no, go ask Dad. Especially if he’s sleeping. It really is your bestest chance.
