Define Threat

Define Threat

*Sigh* Lately, this conversation happens more than I would like to admit! Both of my children are exploring the world of negotiation and threats. They are not so good at it. Mom, can I have 2 pieces of candy? No. It’s almost dinner. Ok…can I have 4 pieces? No. What about 7 pieces? That would be more, so again, no.

One Response to Define Threat

  1. Meggan says:

We have a lot of these conversations, but they usually go something like this…
“If you do not let me have some chocolate, then I’m just NOT GOING TO EAT MY SMORE!”
“If you don’t do what I say, I’m not going to play with Tommy!”

I feel like they don’t get that their threats are supposed to actually threaten me, not sound like a solution to my problem.
